Sunrise Florida is in the midst of a renaissance of sorts. The City of Sunrise has seen unparalleled growth with such new award-winning mixed use and residential developments as Artesia, Tao and the planned Metropica. Four million dollars in tree canopy restoration projects has made the city of Sunrise more beautiful than ever. Sunrise boasts unbeatable shopping experiences and entertainment choices. The Sawgrass Mills mall provides jobs, entertainment and endless shopping to South Florida and the world beyond. Sources site it as the 2nd largest tourist attraction in the state, (behind Walt Disney World).
The Bank Atlantic Center also draws crowds to centrally located Sunrise. Located directly across from the Sawgrass Mills Mall, on NW 136th Avenue in Sunrise, the Bank Atlantic center is home to our NHL team the Florida Panthers. The Center is a featured South Florida venue for the latest rock pop and country tours as well as ice shows.
The City of Sunrise is also proud to be home to the brand new 293,000 sq foot IKEA store on the Northwest corner of State Road 84 and NW 136 Avenue. This is IKEA's first Florida store and is a world famous shopper's paradise. Adjacent to the new IKEA are 40,000 square feet of first-class specialty retail shops and restaurants. Currently, next door, there are two
La Quinta hotels to accommodate the crowds that flock to the Sawgrass Mills mall and the crowds at IKEA. Other hotels close by are: Crowne Plaza Sunrise at Sawgrass Mills, The newly renovated Hyatt Bonaventure Resort and Red Door Spa which just completed 100 million dollar renovation in nearby Weston, FLorida.
Sunrise is also host to many parks and outdoor recreational facilities, the largest of which are Markham park, the Sunrise Athletic Complex, the Sunrise Tennis Center and the Soccer Club Park.
The city of Sunrise Florida is centrally located 20 minutes west of Ft. Lauderdale and the beaches, 45 minutes north of Miami and 35 minutes south of Boca Raton. Sunrise is direct neighbor to the City of Weston and Davie to the South, Coral Springs and Tamarac to the North and Plantation to the East. Come to Sunrise to live, work and play.
